Review: Maybelline Vivid matte liquid lipstick

Hello sweeties how are you?

Maybelline recently came out with a range of liquid matte lipsticks and I just had to try one of them. The colors in the collection are amazing and picked a shade called 05 Nude Flush. I wouldn’t really call this a  nude, it’s more of a rich pink shade (I have no idea how to describe colors bdw just….look at the pictures). I think it’s really wearable for everyday use and goes with a lot of looks.

Lets talk about packaging: Stuning!! Maybelline really nailed this one. It looks expensive, not drugstore item at all. It’s really sleek and elegant and I love the black matte top. It comes with a standard doe foot applicator and it’s pretty easy to apply, I would suggest using a lipliner first becouse liquid lipsticks are generally harder to apply.

The texture of the lipstick is really creamy and smooth to apply on the lips but you can quickly apply too much, it’s easier to work with if you first wipe off the excess product. It’s not patchy at all and it applies on evenly. You can also layer it but there’s no need becouse the product itself is really pigmented. It can settle a bit in fine lines on the lips.

What I like about it is that it doesn’t dry out your lips like most liquid lipcticks do. It important to start with moisturized lips. I don’t feel it on my lips when I wear it which  is also a plus. The only downside is the staying power. It takes a lot of time to dry completely down and even when it’s dry it leaves color when you touch it so it’s not  really a long lasting formula.

I really hope this was helpful, if you have any more suggestions or questions, please leave them bellow. Sending you all my love,

Great review! I’ve seen these around lately, I think it’s great the drugstore is getting into the liquid lipstick market. If you haven’t already, check out the Revlon Ultra Matte HD Colors. I think they’re similar to the Maybelline ones in terms of formula and aren’t drying as well. 🙂
