Catrice recently came out with a limited edition eyeshadow palette with collab with Kaviar Gauche. I saw the colors and just have to take it.
I am a sucker for pretty packaging and catrice has really step up their game with this one. It looks elegant and expensive, the black backround has a velvet feel to it and on top there are roses printed in gold sparkle. The only problem with velvet is that it gets dirty fast so you have to wipe it often. The packaging itself is really sturdy and another plus, it comes with a big mirror. The inside is really sleek also, it doesn’t come with any brushes which i don’t mind and you get a 8g of product.
The colors in the palette remind me of fall and you get three matt shades and one shimmery (bottom right). I think colors compliment each other beautifuly and you can absolutely create a look using just these four shades. The camera isn’t really doing a justice to the colors so i will try to decribe them:
- top left: on the picture it looks like a black but it’s really a dark cold brown. I feel like this shade is the most pigmented of them all.
- top right: it’s a really pretty plum red shade
- bottom left: a really soft greyish-brown perfect for the crease.
- bottom right: the only shimmery shadow in the palette, a standard shimmery white perfect for ineer corner and browbone highlight.
Overall all of the shadows are decently pigmented but you do have to build them up. When applying them you have to work in small layers so they are easier to blend out. They are smooth and don’t have any fallout.
I quickly created this simple look using the palette. First I put this redish shade all over the lid them I took a blending brush and applied a light brown in my crease building it up. Next I put dark brown in a v formation in the ineer corner of the eye blending it in and applied the first two shades on the bottom lash line. Lastly I placed a shimmer white in the ineercorner and on the brown bone to lift my eye.
I really enjoy the colors in this palette and i feel like i will be using this palette a lot during autumn. You can create many different looks with it so i would recomend it if you’re into this kinds of colors. I hope this was somehow helpful, sending you my love
