Best and worst of: essence makeup

Hello sweeties how are you

I realised I have a lot of makeup of the same brand, so I decided to point out certain products of a certain brand. Today let’s start with essence. Essence is a really affortable brand perfect for teenages who can’t affort expensive makeup, but still want good products. I collected quite a few things over the year and with low price brands, you’ll find amazing and crappy stuff. Let’s start…

  • essence soo glow! cream to powder highlighter

I got mine in the colour 20 bright up your life. It a really pretty pearl colour with tiny shimmers in it. It adds beutiful glow to your face and sits really pretty on the skin. Becouse it’s a cream product, you apply it with your hands and you can also layer a powder highlighter on top of it. Just make sure you put a thin layer on becouse it can become cakey.  It stays on the skin quite a long time as well. It’s comes in another shade called 10 look at the bright side which is a bit lighter and I heard amazing things about it so I have to try it.

  • essence silky touch blush

Mine is in the colour 90 summer dreaming, a really pretty pinky peach colour. I believe it comes in two more shades. The problem with this is, it’s not very pigmented so you really have to layer it on. The blush itself is really soft and smooth I just with there was more color payoff.

  • 3 lips: 18 velvet matt, 11 nude love, 13 love me

I like all three of them. They are smooth, creamy, moisturizing, pigmented and the staying power is ok for the price (but it does transfer if you touch it). The velvet matt one is a pretty berry red shade. It’s actually not matt at all, it has a slight shimmer and it provides an even coverage. The shade love me is more on the shimmery side, a barbie pink, beautiful for everyday. The shade nude love is as the name says nude, it’s the most sheer and shimmery out of the three.

  • essence stay all day concealer

I have it in the shade 10 natural beige. The formula is really nice, it’s creamy and easy to blend, but not really long lasting (defenetly doesn’t hold up to 16H as it claims). It brightens the area, the coverage is light-medium and it can crease if you don’t set it properly.

  • two lipliners: 06 satin mauve and 07 cute pink

Essence makes some great lipliners. They are creamy and smooth and not overly pigmented to the point where they smudge or make a crispy line. Both of the shades are very wearable and go with a lot of lipsticks.

  • essence I love extreme volume mascara

the wand on this mascara is huuuuuge. It can be really tricky to work with, so you have to make sure to really wipe the mascara first before you apply it, becouse the formula is really watery. It does what the name says; extreme volume. It doesn’t clump the lashes together and it seperates them, but i would suggest putting this on after another mascara not on its own.

Overall I think essence is a great brand for those on the budget or just starting out in makeup. They provide a huge range of different products in lots of colour and shades so I think they are worth checking out.

Sending you kisses,

Elizabeth Noel
